A- Under-graduate and Post-graduate Medical courses

For admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses the notification and prospectus is issued by University of Delhi.  Candidates are required to contact Dy. Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Patel Chest Building, University of Delhi directly. (Ph No. 011- 27667647)

The details given below are regarding the name, duration of the course, tentative month of the entrance examination for admission and its Admission Notice and Eligibility for admission. Admission notice with various details is published by Faculty of Medical Sciences of Delhi University, in leading Newspapers & University of Delhi’s Website.

Brief outline of the course and content of study for the MBBS Course is as under:

First Professional MBBS

:

12 months w.e.f. August to next July Subjects taught are Anatomy, Physiology Biochemistry & Community Medicine

Second Professional MBBS

:

17 months w.e.f. August to next December Subjects taught are Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, Obstt. &Gynae, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Community Medicine.

Third Professional MBBS Part-I

:

12 months From January to December Subjects taught are Medicine, Surgery, Obstt. &Gynae, ENT, Ophtha, Community Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry

Third Professional MBBS Part-II

:

12 months From January to December Subjects taught are Medicine, Surgery, Obstt. &Gynae, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry & Radiology.

Duration of Internship is 12 months after the Final Examination. During this period, they also spend 2 months in the rural health centers for field work.  The Stipend during the period of Internship would be as per Govt. of India guidelines from time to time.

Guidelines for admission to Postgraduate (M.D/M.S) no seprate all India Entrance Exam Is held for admission to superspeciality MCH (Paediatric Surgery) DM (Neonatology) Courses, Admission is conducted by Delhi University through their Entrance Examination    50% All India quota seats & proportionately SC/ST/OBC seats are filled by Director General of Health Services on the basis of merit in the All India Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examination conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the month of January notified in September of the previous year.

50% Delhi University quota seats and proportionately SC/ST/OBC quota seats are filled by Delhi University through Delhi University’s Post-graduate Medical Entrance Examination. Postgraduate Degree / superspeciality Courses
